On Safari With Roz Ruhl in Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

October 21, 2013

When Roz Ruhl contacted us she had two main objectives. Travel to East Africa to see both black and white rhino in their natural habitat, and come home with some excellent photographs of them. We took care of the former by taking her on safari to the wild and remote Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, on Kenya’s Laikipia plateau, which is home to both species of rhino and plenty of other big game. And as you can see from this slideshow of the images she has kindly shared with us, she has certainly achieved the latter as well – indeed, she tells us that Lewa is the only destination she has visited of all her African safaris where she was lucky enough to spot the ‘big five’ within hours of arrival.

This is what Roz had to say about her experience of travelling with us:

“I just returned from an independent photographic journey in Kenya crafted by Journeys Discovering Africa and myself. First of all, my travel consultant, Patrick, attentively listened to the specific wish-list events that I wanted to experience (black rhinos, solo game drives, skilled trackers and flexible lodging plans). I got all of the above and more! As a result of this detailed tailoring, I experienced remarkable photo opportunities and teamwork from local guides, hosts, trackers…I will, in future, hold this trip as THE standard and again confidently consult and book with JDA for my upcoming journeys.”
