Reviews about Journeys Discovering Africa

Fish River Lodge

overview

Safari Highlights

Fish River Lodge was built to complement its surroundings and this is reflected in its naturally rugged yet stylish architecture. The lodge overlooks Fish River Canyon and is the ideal place to begin and end a hike.

Fish River Lodge NamibiaA Prime Location

20 private chalets are dotted along the edge of the canyon, flanking both sides of the main lodge. As with the main building, guests can soak up the enchanting views. The beds have been placed to allow guests a prime spot from which to gaze over the majestic canyon as the sun washes a kaleidoscope of colours over the landscape each morning. Crackling fires warm the main lodge in winter when the wind and cold snaps draw guests inside.

Nights Under the StarsFish River Lodge

Fish River Canyon is a very popular destination for hikers and has varying degrees of challenge stretching along its 90km trail. On your hike, whether it's two, three or five days you will encounter ancient geological features, natural rock pools, the quiver - Namibia's national tree, as well as a stunning array of other flora and fauna, wildlife and birdlife including mountain zebra and smaller wildlife such as the klipspringer.
