Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, it is. We have hosted a large number of single travellers over the years, and in our destinations, single travellers, male or female, are not an unusual sight. All our safaris are conducted by an experienced local guide, who will help you through the cultural and social interactions you will have along the way, and make them fun. Our guides are in 24-hour contact with our local operations offices, and one of our management staff is always a local phone call away.
We are members of the Travel Trust Association, a UK-based organisation, and therefore abide by a strict code of conduct. When you pay us, your monies are deposited straight into a Trust Account, which is a UK bank account designated to hold your money.
Your money remains in the Trust Account and is supervised by an appointed Trustee who is either a banker, chartered or certified accountant or a solicitor. Both Journeys Discovering Africa and the Trustee are required to authorise payments from the Trust Account.
In addition to your funds being held in trust, you also have a financial guarantee from the Travel Trust Association. TTA will guarantee the financial obligation of Journeys Discovering Africa up to a maximum any one passenger of £11,000. Therefore, the Trust Account plus the guarantee will ensure that all the money which you have paid is safely protected and available to reimburse the money paid.
Finally, Journeys Discovering Africa has full Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance in place under UK law.
