Photo Blog: Celebrating Africa’s Big Cats

Africa’s big cats, the lion, leopard and cheetah, are the continent’s three largest feline hunters and are the animals which almost always draw a ‘gasp’ from an impressed crowd when sighted.

All three of Africa’s big cats are classified as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. These powerful, agile and beautiful predators are a critical part of a healthy system wherever they may be found in Africa and so maintaining healthy populations through effective wildlife conservation efforts is incredibly important.

We have been fortunate in our safaris across different regions in Africa to have come across many big cats. We celebrate these special cats in pictures below:
