Loved Rwanda, and looking forward to coming back. Everything was very easy and we deeply appreciated that all was gathered in a 'one time shop'.

Reviews about Journeys Discovering Africa

Kulala Desert Lodge

overview

Safari Highlights

Located on the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve near Sossusvlei, the Kulala Desert Lodge consists of 23 canvas-and-thatch cottages.

Unrivalled Access

Not only does the lodge offer the best access there is to Sossusvlei via its own private entrance, but the hot air balloons used to explore the area also take off from the lodge grounds. Service and attention to detail are high on the list for this property. Each of the simply-appointed rooms has a view of the dunes, and each has a star bed on the roof, allowing you to experience a magical night out under the magnificent Namibian sky.

Distant Horizons

Sossusvlei and Deadvlei offer some incredible landscapes, and the best time to expereince them is before the heat of the day starts to bite. The dunes here tower up to 300 metres, and there is ample opportunity to cliemb them and explore the pans themselves. the added advantage of the lodge is that you can explore the attached private reserve on foot, on quad bike or by vehicle
