Reviews about Journeys Discovering Africa

Central Lodge

overview

Safari Highlights

Central Lodge is located in Keetmanshoop, a town considered to be the capital of south Namibia.

Central Lodge NamibiaComfortable Lodging

The lodge consists of 22 rooms and is a comfortable hotel in which to rest after what is often a long drive to get there. A calm and tranquil atmosphere has been created at Central Lodge with its lawned courtyard and central water fountain. Four of the double rooms have a relaxing spa bath to help guests unwind. The a la carte menu offers a variety of simple but tasty food and the bar is a favourite with guests and locals alike. This is a comfortable lodge that works well as a stop over to break up long journeys.

Keetmanshoop, Namibia

Historical Activities

The Keetmanshoop Museum showcases the history of the town and the Nama people. Quiver Tree Forest is only 15km north on the farm Gariganus and has been declared a National Monument. On a privately owned farm, the Megasaurus Camp offers the chance to see fossils of lizard fish estimated to be around 280 million years old. Keetmanshoop is a central hub in this part of Namibia and is the perfect base from which to explore the south.
