Reviews about Journeys Discovering Africa

Mountain Accommodation

overview

Safari Highlights

While trekking in the Rwenzoris, you will be staying in basic accommodation provided in shelters, huts or camps. Facilities will be simple throughout.

Sine Hut (2,596m/8,517ft)

This simple wooden cabin has ten beds with a large terrace - perfect for enjoying the views of the forested ridge and nearby waterfalls.

Mutinda Camp (3,925m/12,877ft)

Located near a babbling brook, Mutinda Camp is a simple camp offering the chance to wash and rest. Nearby, Mutinda Lookout provides an incredible view across the mountains to Lake George far below on the Rift Valley floor.

Bugata Camp (4,062m/13,327ft)

Situated just above Bugata Lake, Bugata camp is a simple camp with great views across Lake Kopello to Weismann's Peak as well as Lake Africa and Lake Kanganyika. The camp has slightly better facilities including solar lighting where you can prepare water for a hot basin bath. The camp also has a helipad in case of any rescue.

Samalira Camp (3,170m/10,400ft)

Located in the Mimilopsis and Afro-montane forest zones, this is also a simple camp that is situated in a closed valley at the top of several waterfalls.
