Reviews about Journeys Discovering Africa

Chobe Safari Lodge

overview

Safari Highlights

Re-opened in August 2010, Chobe Lodge offers new levels of comfort and facilities for Uganda, and opens up a part of Murchison Falls National Park on the north bank of the Nile that has long been neglected and forgotten. Rising from the ruins of the old Chobe Lodge that lay derelict since its heyday in the 50’s and 60’s, the new lodge has a rich heritage to draw on and the high standard of fit and finish does justice to that heritage. The sumptuous en suite tents are set on polished wooden decks, and the furnishings hark back to a bygone age when safari travel was the preserve of the privileged few. The new lodge is supremely accessible to all though, whether by air or by road. It offers a fascinating new dimension to Uganda’s collection of lodges, and promises to be well worth a visit.
