Reviews about Journeys Discovering Africa

Ngala Tented Camp

overview

Safari Highlights

The &Beyond Ngala Tented Camp is sophisticated 'camping' at its best.

Ngala Tented CampPatterns of Africa

Set against the gentle backdrop of African sights and sounds are the camp's nine luxurious safari tents overlooking the banks of the seasonal Timbavati River. Each tent is mounted on a raised platform and inside, stone partitions and wooden sides create a warm and cosy atmosphere. It's a contemporary camp but it never allows you to forget you are in the wild; canvas mixes with luscious thick forest and clean lines are paired with the rugged bushveld.

Ngala Tented Camp InteriorActivities For All

From the camp it is possible to do all manner of activities. Guests can track rhino on foot, take night time game drives in a private vehicle, go on an interpretive walking safari and even sleep out in the middle of the bush (for an extra cost). For those who wish to indulge you can take a helicopter flight* that sees you soar over Blyde River Canyon and cascading waterfalls. Ngala is very well set up for families (children over the age of 12 are welcome), and a particularly excellent feature is its WILDchild programme for children.
