Reviews about Journeys Discovering Africa

Chobe Game Lodge

overview

Safari Highlights

One of the larger lodges we use, Chobe Game Lodge is no less special than its smaller peers. The level of service and attention to detail is just as good as you would expect in an intimate tented camp.

Luxury Where You Least Expect It

Driving through the bush to the lodge, first time visitors are frequently surprised at the sumptuous facilities that await them. Chobe was built in 1972, but easily maintains a contemporary feel, and the 'wow' factor as you are greeted at the main entrance is almost guaranteed. As would be expected, the lodge goes to great lengths to respect its fragile location through its responsible operations.

Unfenced Africa

One of the most special things about this lodge is its location. Being right on the edge of the Chobe River, the lodge offers more than ample opportunity to see what's happening from its six viewing decks, four dining rooms, two bars and six lounges. As if that wasn't enough, guided game drives in the superb wilderness area can be very rewarding, as can excursions on the river itself in small, maneuverable boats.
